Creative Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum at Jaffaria Academy

Our Creative Curriculum covers objectives in several subject areas from the National Curriculum for England, ranging across Art and Design, Citizenship, Computing, Design and Technology, English, Geography, History, Maths, Physical Education, Science and also personal, social and health education (PSHE). Our curriculum brings together the National Curriculum in a fun and engaging way through project-based learning. Through each topic, subject strands are linked to the curriculum objectives.

For example, In Key Stage 1, pupils will study The Great Fire of London, the following links will be made:

History – Learn the history of the Great Fire.

Art – Look at artist work based on the Great fire and create representations using Charcoal drawings.

PSHE – Discuss and explore feelings felt at this time of history.

Science – Study and investigate how materials differ and their reactions vary.

Geography – Look at maps of the spread of the fire and location of the fire.

English – Write newspaper articles and Diary entries about the fire.

DT – Compare and make contemporary and period recipes.
